Alice
Kennel/Adoption Manager ext. 103
Alice@petorphans.org
Have you heard the term Beast Master? Well that would sum up Alice, not only is she
the leader of the pack with her staff and animal residents she also is the 24 hour
Watch Dog to protect our orphans. Along with her pack members she cares for all the
dogs and cats and has the difficult but rewarding job of selecting all our orphans for
intake. Working with our vets and trainers she ensures everyone is healthy, mentally
and physically, and loved.
Our kennel and grounds sparkle due to her desire to keep the animals' habitat as clean
as possible and you won't hear the humans complaining either. Working at Pet Orphans
she has truly found her home, along with her 6 rescues, Tug our resident goofy, tail
waggin' Pit Bull X, Rigby a Chihuahua X, and her Terrier duo Penelope and Skipper and
Rudy and Fancy on kitty patrol, things are safe and sound here at the orphanage.
After many years managing a family owned restaurant and taking care of human kids in
a daycare, her skills have flourished and offer her staff and critters the same
leadership and care she has built her career around. On her off time Alice can be
found fostering one of our orphans that need that extra special time and playmates
around the clock.

Jeff
Assistant Kennel Manager
Jeff is literally the right hand of our Kennel Manager; their team work
inspires all of us. Whether it be making pound transfers and selections
or deciding what food to feed or which dogs to house together, Jeff is
always there offering his assistance. Working to enhance the quality of life
for all our residents and making sure they are all plump and happy, Jeff
cares for their daily needs and his as well. After all the WORK is done, you
can find Jeff in the yard or kennel runs cuddling and kissing our dogs getting
his needs filled.
Jeff enjoys coming to work as much as the first day
he saw all the critters who needed him. Jeff even schedules his days off apart
because he can't go more than one day without caring for his kids. No matter the
extra work load, Jeff is always more than happy to introduce new stress reducing
programs into the kennel. If it's good for the animals it's good for Jeff. One
could only hope that animal caregivers everywhere worked as hard and were as caring
as our Jeff. |

Renee´
Kennel Staff
Renee' came to Pet Orphans through working with our vets at AMC for over three years.
Coming here weekly to help our vet with health checks and assisting our orphans when brought into
the vets office daily, she couldn't help but fall in love with what Pet Orphans is all about. It
was easy to snag her up when a position became available here at POSC. Our critters feel confident
in her abilities to tend to their needs.
Working mainly with our cats, yet still well versed with our dogs, she is always stepping out of the box
and adding to her responsibilities to promote our orphans for adoption. Running off to the vet's office
daily to tend to our animals medical needs is where she starts her day, following with the daily needs of
the critters along with the rest of the kennel staff. On her spare time Renee' is full of love and comfort
and is always smooching with the critters. |

Tiffany and Rocko
Kennel Staff
Tiffany is a natural when it comes to relating with animals, she started volunteering with POSC
when she was just a young child. Always spending each and every weekend and any time off school
she could find, her days were spent here caring for our animals. As the youngest Counselor and
Dog Training Assistant, she has volunteered in every position possible. One of our first Junior
Volunteer of the Year recipients, her desire to help animals is inspiration to us all.
Waiting for Tiffany to be old enough to start working, the moment 16 came around she was called
and asked to become part of our team again, but now as a staff member. Tiffany jumped at the
chance and once again has proven her ability to challenge her self in ways most teenagers never
even think to. She cares for the dogs and cats every need, feeding, cleaning, medicating, playtime
and love. Also counsels our perspective adopters and lends a hand to the Kennel Manager with what
ever she needs.
Tiffany has known her calling, we believe since she was born, living with her mother and fiancé
& son, big brother Larry and younger sister Melaney. She has a very active household which of
course has its fill of furry critters Tiffany has rescued and claims as her pack; Rocko
(Poodle/Lab X) and Teddy (Shih-Tzu/Poodle X). Sure to have her own shelter someday, we enjoy every
minute we have her under our wings. |

Lauralea, CPDT-KA and Mayhem
Certified Dog Trainer and Behavior Consultant ext. 102
lauralea@petorphans.org
Lauralea joined the staff of Pet Orphans as a Behavior Consultant about three
yeas ago. Her experience with animals began in her early childhood with the
family German Shepherds and the menagerie of creatures with whom she shared
her home. Her love of animals led her to volunteer work with local animal
shelters and rescues. At these facilities, Lauralea gained valuable skills
and experience caring for both domestic and exotic animals. During her
college studies at the University of Central Florida, Lauralea continued her
volunteer work. She became involved with canine rescue and adoption at the
Orlando Humane Society where she assisted in their Adoption Outreach Program.
Since arriving in Los Angeles six years ago, with her newly adopted Plott
Hound mix Loki, Lauralea has developed into a career working with dogs. She
also continues her commitment to dog rescue, foster and adoption. In the
process she acquired two more pups, Grendel and Fern. These new additions
were a blessing in more ways than one. Their behavioral needs led Lauralea to
classes at the Pasadena Humane Society. There, Lauralea became a volunteer
and later a staff member where she taught Basic Obedience and Tricks Classes
for the shelter's Behavior Department. She also conducted SAFER tests with
the shelter's dogs for behavioral assessment and placement purposes. In the
process, she learned important handling and training skills.
Lauralea works with Pet Orphans of Southern California as a Behavior
Consultant and Adoption Counselor. As a Behavior Consultant, she assists the
POSC team in the behavior assessments of our shelter dogs. When acting as an
Adoption Counselor, Lauralea provides shelter tours to visiting public and
guides families in selecting the right dog.
In her canine studies, Lauralea has attended courses to learn the finer
details of reward-based training methods. She was also taught specialized
techniques in scent detection, tracking, agility, and therapy/hearing dog
training. Currently, Lauralea studies canine nose work, obedience and will
soon begin Schutzhund work with her Malinois. |
